Daydreaming in St. Peter's Basilica

Hello Everyone! Hope that you're pretty well now.
Several days ago, I found an article about architecture.

I love the building with a lot of details either sclupture, carfing or fretwork.
Sain Peter's Basilica is one of the place that I want to explore. Because, that place is a perfect combination of art and architecture.

Have I been there? Of course not.
Just for your information, I really adore Hillary Rodham Clinton and Bill Clinton's love story when they've visited Europe to explore as much Cathedral as they could be. That's so sweet, but of course it's just too good to be true :) I don't even have a courage for that dream :D

Before I go, I think it's a good idea to find out a lot of information about this place.
I'm very interested because I'm growing up in a Catholic family, but I think this place is so universal and everyone can explore regardless the difference of religion. You'll always be welcome. That's my friend's experience when traveled Rome. She is moslem, but has an eager to learn and explore new things about everything or something new.

This building location is at Rome. It was built on April 18th, 1506. The date when it was built is very close to my birthday which is on April 6th :) The amazing facts of Saint Peter's Basilica that really impressed me are:

1. This place is the second place of St. Peter's Basilica

Why? Because firstly, original church was built in the 4th Century by Emperor Constantine. The ancient church was in serious disrepair or collapse in Renaissance. After long difficult discussion, Pope Julius II asked Michaelangelo to work together in re-built the the new church. That's why, there are a lot of masterpice and marvelous ancient art inside the church (mosaics and statues). Everyone around the world can see the majestic creation of the masterpiece.

2. St. Peter's Basilica is not a place for the Pope's official seat or Cathedral

Actually, this place was not built for an official seat of Pope. Because of the massive building and strategic location nearby the residence of the Pope, this building started to become Catholic's important ceremony ever since.

3. The Pieta is shielded with Bulletproof Glass

Yes, it's a one of Michaelangelo's masterpiece. It's covered by bulletproof glass because someone in the past tried to destroy the statue by attacting with the hammer and caused some cracked of the statue. So, it's now safe with bulletproof glass protector.

That's one of my travel dream and hope that I can go there someday, sometime in the future before I die :)

Do you have a dream place to be visited?
Just share to me by sending your comments!
I'll be very happy to read it.

Thank you for reading.

Faithfully,
Fifi
